Harbour Explorer

Step aboard and let Pender Harbour reveal itself at its own pace. In 90 minutes we cover the harbour's most rewarding corners — quiet coves where seals haul out on sun-warmed rocks, shallow kelp beds where great blue herons stand motionless, and narrow channels lined with old-growth Douglas fir that tower over the waterline.

This tour is perfectly paced for families, couples, or anyone who wants a genuine taste of what makes this inlet so beloved — without committing a whole day. Our guide shares the natural history, the local stories, and the wildlife knowledge built from a lifetime on these waters.

The Experience

What to expect on a tour

No experience needed. No rough seas. Just good company, fresh air, and a part of the coast you won't forget.

Meet at the dock

We meet at Pender Harbour Resort & Marina — the boat is at the foot of the dock in the marina. Arrive 10 minutes early so there's time to get your bearings, meet your fellow guests, and get comfortable on the boat before we head out. Life jackets are provided for everyone on board — little ones must have theirs on before we leave the dock.

Cast off

The pontoon has a canopy for when the rain rolls in. Once everyone is aboard and briefed on the basics, we untie and head out — sit on the bow, stay near the stern, or just take it all in. Water is provided; please leave outside food and drinks ashore.

Explore at your pace

We follow a general route through the harbour's best corners, but the pace is flexible and we stop when something is worth stopping for — a seal sleeping on a rock, a heron stalking the shallows, a great photo op around the next bend. If there's somewhere you'd like to linger, just say so.
